NBHA ND03 District Barrel Racings

1. NBHA rules will apply.
2. All barrel racings will be a 4-D format.
3. World Qualifier points and year-end award points will be on a 4-D format.
4. Western attire is mandatory, unless waived by the Director on the day of the race.  Any  contestant losing a hat will be fined $3, payable at the end of the class.  All fines must be  paid  prior to the next race entry or you will not be allowed to compete.  All fines collected will be  placed in district year-end awards fund.
5. All NSF checks will be assessed a $50 fee in addition to the amount of the check and bank  charges.  All fines must be paid prior to the next race entry.  All fines collected will be placed in  district year-end awards fund.
6. 6. Members shall refrain from schooling their horse during a competition.  Remember to respect the  ground conditions for the barrel racers running behind you.
7. Please be prepared to list your horse’s registered name (if registered) and barn name when  entering.   We would like to submit our results with registered horse names.
8. DECISIONS OF THE NDO3 DISTRICT DIRECTOR ARE FINAL.

PeeWee  9 & Under (Age as of Jan. 1)  

1. Times will be awarded for all runs.  If a barrel is tipped or pattern is broken, a 5 second penalty will be added
2. Day prizes will be awarded to all participants. 
3. To be eligible for year-end awards, rider must pilot (not be lead) his/her horse through pattern.  Help may be vocal but no physical assistance once timer has started.
4. Year-end points will be given to those not lead through the pattern.
   Ex:  If your child is lead for 2 races and then completes 3 races on their own, they will    receive year-end points for the 3 races only.   Points will be awarded as follows:      1st = 5, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 3, 4th = 2, 5th = 1.  Participation points will not be given.

ND03 Year-End Awards

1. You must be a current member of ND03 or declare ND03 as your competition district.  If your  membership has expired more than 30 days, you will lose all of your accumulated points-to-date  and have to start over at time of renewal.  You can renew online through NBHA’s website at any  time or contact your District Director.  We will not “backdate” memberships for anyone.
2. Points for year-end awards will be awarded for 5 places, in each division, per class, for every  rider/horse combination.  All points will be awarded on a 4-D format.  This WILL NOT affect  NBHA World Qualifier Points.
   Ex:  Open Class: 1st Division – first place will receive 5 points; second place will receive 4  points and so forth, down to 5th place receiving 1 point.  Members with multiple entries may  earn points in the same division of a class on different horses.  Points are tracked on the  rider/horse combination, not just the rider or just the horse and will not be transferred to  another rider or horse, nor will they be added together for a total in a division or a class.  World  Qualifier points will be awarded separately according to NBHA Rules.
3. Ties for year-end awards will be handled as follows:  The member that had the fastest average time at district finals will be declared the winner.
4. You must enter district finals. If you are not able to attend, you must pay the  entry fee for one run to qualify for year-end awards and arrange delivery of your award.
5. Year-end awards ceremony will be held immediately following the District Finals.
